Cheney Urges Supermarkets To Turn Over Members’ Club Card Records To NSA

Vice President Dick Cheney has put out a memo asking all major American supermarket chains to open up their membership “club card” databases to the NSA, a Capitol Hill insider reported on Thursday. “By analyzing purchases made by customers of these retailers, we hope to identify patterns consistent with terrorist activity,” said Cheney. “After exhaustive interviews conducted at Guantanamo Bay over the last three years, we think we now have a pretty good idea of what these guys like to eat.”

House GOP to focus on abortion, guns

House Republicans intend to hold votes this summer and fall touching on abortion, guns, religion and other priority issues for social conservatives, part of an attempt to improve the party’s prospects in the midterm elections.

The “American Values Agenda” also includes a proposed constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage — which already has failed in the Senate — a prohibition on human cloning and possibly votes on several popular tax cuts.
